Facebook calendar sync on Android devices

A few days back I found that there are some issues between Facebook and Google so FB events and contacts are not getting synced on my Android device. I deleted FB account to reconfigure it but by doing so, I found myself in deep trouble as I wasn't able to add FB account to my Android device. Contacts are not much important to me but events are very important so I tried to search solution for such a problem. I found some third-party apps which can sync your FB calendar but again there might be a privacy issue when we are using the third-party app so I don't want to go for such a solution. After searching for few more time, I found one solution as adding FB events to Google calendar and then sync Google calendar on Android device to get all the events on it (thanks to http://www.androidcentral.com/android-101-how-sync-facebook-events-google-calendar).

If you are facing the same problem here are the steps to follow:

1. Click on events link on left of your FB home page. (you will find all your FB events)
2. Right click on Birthdays link on right bottom corner of your events page and choose "copy link location". (you may do the same for "Upcoming events too).
3. Now go to your Google calendar (https://www.google.com/calendar/)
4. Click on down arrow button situated after the text "Other calendars" on left bottom corner of your Google calendar home page. Select "Add by URL" option and you will find one dialog box asking for URL. Right-click in the URL box and paste the copied link by selecting "paste" option. Click on "Add calendar" button and you're done. (hint: your calendar link starts with 'webcal' word)
5. So you get all your birthday events of FB on your Google calendar. Now, just sync Google calendar on your android device to get all the FB event on your Android device.

Behaviour of society

It's a bit long but must read...

एक बार कुछ Scientists ने एक बड़ा ही interesting Experiment किया..

उन्होंने 5 बंदरों को एक बड़े से पिन्जरे में बंद कर दिया और बीचों-बीच एक सीढ़ी लगा दी जिसके ऊपर केले लटक रहे थे..

जैसा की उम्मीद था, जैसे ही एक बन्दर की नज़र केलों पर पड़ी वो उन्हें खाने के लिए दौड़ा पर जैसे ही उसने कुछ सीढ़ियां चढ़ीं उस पर ठण्डे पानी की तेज धार डाल दी गयी और उसे उतर कर भागना पड़ा पर Experimenters यहीं नहीं रुके, उन्होंने एक बन्दर के किये गए की सजा बाकी बंदरों को भी दे डाली और सभी को ठन्डे पानी से भिगो दिया..

बेचारे बन्दर हक्के-बक्के एक कोने में दुबक कर बैठ गए..

पर वे कब तक बैठे रहते, कुछ समय बाद एक दूसरे बन्दर को केले खाने का मन किया और वो उछलता कूदता सीढ़ी की तरफ दौड़ा अभी उसने चढ़ना शुरू ही किया था कि पानी की तेज धार से उसे नीचे गिरा दिया गया और इस बार भी इस बन्दर के गुस्ताखी की सज़ा बाकी बंदरों को भी दी गयी..

एक बार फिर बेचारे बन्दर सहमे हुए एक जगह बैठ गए...

थोड़ी देर बाद जब तीसरा बन्दर केलों के लिए लपका तो एक अजीब वाक्या हुआ बाकी के बन्दर उस पर टूट पड़े और उसे केले खाने से रोक दिया, ताकि एक बार फिर उन्हें ठन्डे पानी की सज़ा ना भुगतनी पड़े..

अब Scientists ने एक और interesting चीज़ की अंदर बंद बंदरों में से एक को बाहर निकाल दिया और एक नया बन्दर अंदर डाल दिया नया बन्दर वहां के Rules क्या जाने वो तुरंत ही केलों की तरफ लपका पर बाकी बंदरों ने झट से उसकी पिटाई कर दी..

उसे समझ नहीं आया कि आख़िर क्यों ये बन्दर ख़ुद भी केले नहीं खा रहे और उसे भी नहीं खाने दे रहे ख़ैर उसे भी समझ आ गया कि केले सिर्फ देखने के लिए हैं खाने के लिए नहीं..

इसके बाद Scientists ने एक और पुराने बन्दर को निकाला और नया अंदर कर दिया इस बार भी वही हुआ नया बन्दर केलों की तरफ लपका पर बाकी के बंदरों ने उसकी धुनाई कर दी, और मज़ेदार बात ये है कि पिछली बार आया नया बन्दर भी धुनाई करने में शामिल था जबकि उसके ऊपर एक बार भी ठंडा पानी नहीं डाला गया था !

Experiment के अंत में सभी पुराने बन्दर बाहर जा  चुके थे और नए बन्दर अंदर थे जिनके ऊपर एक बार भी ठंडा पानी नहीं डाला गया था पर उनका Behavior भी पुराने बंदरों की तरह ही था वे भी किसी नए बन्दर को केलों को नहीं छूने देते..

Friends, हमारी Society में भी ये Behavior देखा जा सकता है, जब भी कोई नया काम शुरू करने की कोशिश करता है, चाहे वो पढ़ाई , खेल , एंटरटेनमेंट, Business, राजनीती, समाजसेवा या किसी और field से related हो, उसके आस पास के लोग उसे ऐसा करने से रोकते हैं, उसे Failure का डर दिखाया जाता है और interesting बात ये है कि उसे रोकने वाले maximum लोग वो होते हैं जिन्होंने ख़ुद उस field में कभी हाथ भी नहीं आज़माया होता..

इसलिए यदि आप भी कुछ नया करने की सोच रहे हैं और आपको भी समाज या आस पास के लोगों का opposition face करना पड़ रहा है तो थोड़ा संभल कर रहिये, अपने Logic और Guts की सुनिए, ख़ुद पर और अपने लक्ष्य पर विश्वास क़ायम रखिये और बढ़ते रहिये..

As I written earlier in my reviews that writing style of Mr. Amish is really nice. There are many secrets have been revealed from the identity of Naga to Brahspati. 'The immortal of meluha' starts from suryavanshi country Meluha and ends at chandravanshi country swadweep same way 'the secret of the nagas' starts from swadweep and ends at Nagas country panchvati. I don't want to discuss the story here, as it may affect your interest in reading the book. it becomes very difficult to leave a book in last few chapters. they are so connected that you wish to finish them in one go. this book also leave with the few question to make you curious about reading the next book in Shiva trilogy. I like these two books and I hope last part will also not disappoint me.

What is more important GDP(Gross Domestic Product) or GNH (Global National Happiness)?

Today in the Ravipurti (a magazine from Gujarat Samachar on Sundays) I read one article about the speech of the prime minister of Bhutan Mr. Tshering Tobgay at Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2015. I found this article very interesting and search for the speech on youtube and fortunately I found the video. Mr. Prime Minister has made few points very important for the country to become a happier place to live. he said that what is the implication of GDP if the average citizen of the country doesn't find it worthy to live. so the country needs to concentrate on the overall quality of life and need to improve GNH instead of GDP.

Please be the responsible citizen of the country, don't believe in fake commitments of greedy businessmen instead save the environment of your country to save mother earth.
